Join us for an exciting day of bushcraft, herbalism, foraging, forest foods, primitive skills, nature crafts, outdoor games, and family fun as the Vinton County Fairgrounds transforms into a living classroom where children can explore, create, discover, and learn through experience.
Whether your family is just beginning its nature study journey or you've spent years hiking the trails, camping, gardening, or exploring the outdoors together, Forest Faire has something for every age and interest. Build a slingshot, make botanical perfume, create woodland fairy crafts, discover edible plants, learn primitive survival skills, taste forest-inspired foods, and make memories your family will treasure for years to come!

Rain does not cancel. In case of storm the event will adapt and move inside two different structures at the fairgriounds. TIckets are non-refundable, but you may gift or sell your ticket to another party if you are unable to attend after purchasing. There is handicap parking area at the fairgrounds. While some of the area is rugged outdoors, the pathways and structures are handicap and stroller accessible. Rest rooms are located in the Fern Kruger Building.
To help you make the most of your day, please print and bring both the official Forest Faire Event Map and Class Schedule with you. With so many exciting classes and activities happening throughout the fairgrounds, these will make it much easier to find your favorite workshops and plan your family's day.
A large reference copy of both the event map and class schedule will be posted at The Homestead Homeschool Booth, located near the Fern Kruger Building, for guests to reference throughout the day.
Please note: Printed copies will not be handed out at the event, so we encourage each family to bring their own copy or save them to your phone before you arrive.

ThIs is aΒ private entity and private property with its own specific set of policies, rules, and regulations that are separate from as well as in addition to any Heritage Skills USA rules of attendance and participation. Click on the Vinton County Fairgrounds website to read the venue's terms of service to ensure you fully understand and agree to abide by them before purchasing a ticket to Heritage Skills USA or securing lodging during the event.Β

Refund Policy
Limitation of Liability, Waiver, Release and Indemnification Agreement for Heritage Skills USA Event
1. Purchase of an admission ticket and/or attendance at any Heritage Skills USA event activity signifies my understanding and agreement to the terms set forth below.
2. I acknowledge that participating in the Heritage Skills USA event may involve physical activity and present a risk of death, serious injury and property loss. The risks may include, without limitation, (a) acts or omissions of Heritage Skills USA, Vinton County Fairgrounds, On Guard Defense Gun Range and Training Center, Raccoon Creek Outfitters, Countryside Stables, their respective directors, officers, employees, agents, independent contractors; (b) acts or omissions of other people, including, but not limited to, participants, volunteers, spectators, event sponsors, speakers, vendors and exhibitors; (c) weather; (d) natural conditions and hazards; (e) lack of hydration or food; and (f) contact with other participants at the Heritage Skills USA event.
3. I hereby assume all of risks of participating in the Heritage Skills USA event.
4. I represent that I am physically fit for participation in the Heritage Skills USA event.
5. I agree to abide by any decision of the organizers and event hosts to any aspect of my participation in this event, including their decision to suspend my participation for any reason whatsoever.
6. I hereby consent to receive medical treatment that may be deemed advisable in the event of injury, accident, and/or illness during the Heritage Skills USA event, with the full understanding and agreement that the neither Heritage Skills USA, Vinton County Fairgrounds, On Guard Defense Gun Range and Training Center, Racoon Creek Outfitters, or Countryside Stables undertakes to provide such treatment.
7. I acknowledge that this Limitation of Liability, Waiver, Release and Indemnification Agreement will be relied upon by the Heritage Skills USA, and that the Heritage Skills USA would not sell me an admission ticket or allow me on the premises where the Heritage Skills USA event is being held without my acceptance of this Limitation of Liability, Waiver, Release and Indemnification Agreement.
8. In consideration of the Heritage Skills USA selling me an admission ticket and permitting me to participate in the Heritage Skills USA event, for myself, my executors, administrators, heirs, next of kin, successors and assigns, I hereby:
(a) Waive, release, and discharge the Heritage Skills USA, Vinton County Fairground, their respective directors, officers, employee, agents and independent contractor, and all sponsors, vendors, speakers, exhibitors and volunteers, from any and all liability for my death, disability, personal injury, property damage, property theft, or actions of any kind which may hereafter occur in connection with me attending and participating in the Heritage Skills USA event, including traveling to and from the Heritage Skills USA event;
(b) Indemnify and hold harmless all entities or persons mentioned in this section from any and all liabilities or claims made by other individuals or entities as a result of my acts or omissions during the Heritage Skills USA event.
